 Job Purpose

The primary objective of the devops manager is to support the highest level of quality software output in the most efficient way while also balancing team capabilities and capacity.  This role would report directly to the Managing Director and is a strategic as well as operational role within the company. As such, ideal candidates have exceptional leadership, communication and organizational skills.

 Example of a typical week:

Your typical week may include building workflows in Jira to streamline task assignment or experimenting with a new technology or tool to improve team collaboration.  It may also involve working with a client’s IT director to prepare for a major site launch.  It may also involve troubleshooting deployment issues or educating the team on the benefits of a particular process improvement.  You will have a team that supports you and works with you to raise the level of quality and experience throughout the company.

  Digital Technology Background: It’s important for the candidate to have a background in Information Technology and Web Development.  Ideal candidates have experience with a LAMP architecture (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) but also other technologies as well.

  DevOps Tools: Ideal candidate has experience working with common devops tools such as: Jira, BitBucket, GitHub, Basecamp, Tempo, and other tools.

  Project Multi-tasking: Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects at once without lowering customer experience.

  Project and Business Analysis: We are looking for someone who is capable to analyze issues from a business nature as well. Who can understand different reports and metrics that are important for measuring successful outcomes.
