Position Overview
The Test Automation Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining automated UI, performance and load tests. Responsibilities also include developing procedures used to ensure that programs function according to specifications and conform to established guidelines for new and existing software systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, revise and verify quality standards and procedures
- Create, set up and maintain regression, performance and load test scripts
- Conduct compatibility tests with all systems
- Work with utility programs to test, track and verify defects in software programs
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the assigned applications, functional areas and projects.
- Coordinate testing initiatives for releases with the team to ensure all functional areas are thoroughly tested according to Quality Assurance processes
- Develop, publish, and implement test plans (including test scripts, test conditions, and test data)
- Ensures all systems and code have regression scripts and are implemented in automated testing
- Monitor program release cycles and monitors implementation to prevent impact or errors to the production operating environment
- Troubleshoot new builds and post production issues
- Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status
- Verify complete and correct implementations are installed in the environments after code push
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in writing automated regression, performance and load tests using Visual Studio
- Experience in .NET development
- Logical, efficient & proactive
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Comfortable with ambiguity and possess an ability to adapt quickly and easily. Ability to analyze complex problems and move them to resolution
- Background and style that elicits respect in the organization through style of engagement, technical depth, customer service and results
- Positive attitude and ability to build strong relationships within the company and with external partners.
