Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities

· Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.

· Installation, configuration and management of services and Applications like Email, DNS, DHCP, php, Oracle, MySQL, ftp & VoIP on Linux.

· Writing and editing shell scripts as and when needed. Maintaining and editing cron jobs.

· Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems.

· Ensuring that the network infrastructure is up and running.

· Answering technical queries and assisting users.

· Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.

· Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

· Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.

· Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

· Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.

· Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.

· Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.

· Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· BS or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent.

· Systems Administration/Engineer certification in Unix and Microsoft will be a definite plus.

Preferred Skills

· Good Knowledge and Experience System Administration on multiple Platforms including but not Limited to Windows, UNIX, Debian, MAC & BSD.

· Managing of OS Services and Applications including Emails, Antivirus, ftp, Networking, DNS, DHCP, VoIP, php, Oracle. MySQL and Others.

· Good Hands-on on Shell Scripting, cron jobs, Run Levels, File Systems, Directory Structure, iptables, RAID Levels, LVM and Basic Networking on Linux.

Additional Skills

· Experience of working with Databases like MySQL, SQL Server & Oracle.

· Experience on Virtualization and Clustering.

· Knowledge of working with Telecom systems.

Experience

3-5 Years solid Experience in relevant Field.
